With African record prices for our Dormer livestock, including top accolades for both our Dormer ram and ewe, our dedication shines through. Our prized investment in the SA record Dormer Ram, “Oorlog”, has enabled us to enhance our breeding lines further, utilizing advanced techniques like artificial insemination.

Hatari Farming has been involved in the production of various crops under irrigation since 2014 in the Bloemfontein area, Free State Province. Our interests have expanded over the years to include Wheat, Corn and Oats.

Hatari Farming is a game breeding farm in Jagersfontein, Free State – a region renowned for the breeding of top quality animals.
Established in 2001, Hatari Farming saw the need to breed our own bulls to hunt in order to meet our clients’ demand for larger horn sizes.
After recognising the need for high quality hunting game, breeding in the Free State was the next logical step. The dry climate and vast temperature differences between summer and winter ensure the healthiest, most resilient, parasite-free game.

Affiliated with Hatari Big Game Safaris, we specialise in breeding trophy-quality Buffalo, Roan, Sable, Nyala, Lechwe, Bontebok and more to sell to safari and hunting lodges, and other game breeders.

Hatari Farming can put a whole series of South African record prices behind our name, including for the most expensive Dormer ram and ewe. Our stud consists of some of the finest dormer breed genetics in the country. We achieve this excellence by adhering to strict breeding standards along with persistent effort to acquire only the best from proven breeding lines.
Breeding with Dormer Sheep
The Dormer is well known for its high fertility, excellent mothering abilities, long breeding season and easy lambing. As a result of this the Dormer is one of the most efficient sheep breeds in South Africa.
The ewes generally produce twins or higher multiples, which remarkably increases sustainability and profitability. Not to mention the stud ewes generate more income than the commercial ewes allowing you to spend more on additional feed for the stud ewes.
